Quick Update
2024 is coming to an end. I am happy to report that Yellow Bird is trucking right along. Growth has been steady and I feel like the process and time management are starting to find a groove. It’s really wild to think that the metal side of Yellow Bird has only been going for less than two year. I have learned and grown a lot. It warms my heart to see how many people value what I am doing. I love that my network of dealers keeps growing. Talk about some real validation. So, here I am looking back on the last year and feeling good. Thank you all. Now, looking forward. 2025 looks promising. I won’t let too many secrets out but I will let you know that I am working on some new processes that I am really excited about. I have a few collaborations that are all in different stages of development. Collaborations are such a highlight of this project for me. And because so many of you keep asking, YES, one inch topcaps are getting closer to reality. I had no idea so many people would ask for them. I am guessing they will be available in the spring. I know that was a longwinded way of saying “Things are good. Thank you. I’m going to keep on going.” but I’m trying to keep the content flowing for the people who care. XOXO -Brian

As some of you may know, I am heading out west for the second MADE SHOW in Portland, Oregon soon. The show is Aug 23-25. I am in the packing and prepping stage at the moment. It’s a lot for a one man show. To help simplify thing, I have set the inventory on most items to a low number or zero. Inventory will go back to actual numbers I return from the show and the dust settles. Also worth mentioning, there will be a new NIGHTCAP collaboration release. I am really excited about it. If you are in the Northwest later this month, come say “Hi” at BOOTH 321.
The Silver Bolt option

The Silver Bolt option *
A number of people have asked for silver bolts for their topcaps and handlebar plugs. Some bikes just look better with that little bit of sparkle. I get it. So, I will continue to send out all Nightcaps and Barkeepers with black hardware unless otherwise noted, but you are free to purchase silver ones to change things up. Also, I am proud of the packaging on these little guys. I have a lot of fun working out those little details.

I constantly circle back to gratitude as I push on with Yellow Bird. None of this would exist if it weren’t for a lot of support from family, friends and strangers. This has also been the path for lots of those strangers to become family and friends. It sounds sappy but it’s true. The other thing that really amps me up and gets me moving is seeing things that I made ending up on bikes of every variety all over the world. How cool is that!?!? Then, to see the people who are building dream bikes where every detail is endlessly scrutinized and analyzed choosing to include my products. What an honor. So, here I am feeling that pride and gratitude and all those big feeling. Here is a primo example of what that looks like. I have had a bunch of back and forth with a new friend, Nic Morales. He showed me some sneak peak pictures of a bike he was building to do a review of. A timeless, modern classic. I was thrilled. The bike was beautiful and it was an honor to be a part of it. Then, I see his review over on the RADAVIST (the big times). If you think about bikes as being highly customizable, functional artworks, then you probably already know the Radavist. Nic managed to build a stunning bike, write a fantastic and insightful review and take some beautiful photos. Any one of those tasks on it’s own would be highly respectable. So, here I am feeling all those emotions as I see my little piece of brass looking like the cherry on top. So, thank you to Nic and to everyone who supports me and my projects. And please, keep sending me pictures of Yellow Bird products out in the world. It really stokes the fires. Below is another link to that article and a few photos.

An Unencumbered Pursuit
March 16-17 2024
We will be at the Philadelphia Bike Expo this weekend. Come say hi and see what YellowBird has been up to. On Saturday, we will be releasing the latest DUCHAMP NIGHTCAP in collaboration with Lugs Not Drugs. This limited edition top cap will be the third design we have made together. Our design is inspired by the 1935 Optical Discs (Rotoreliefs) created by Marcel Duchamp. The caps will also come with a Duchamp sticker! Frank from Lugs Not Drugs will be there too with some new products and some very serious stickers with wisdom about life and existence. Deep stuff. We will be at TABLE 9 (this is great if you saw The Wedding Singer). Looking forward to seeing you all.

01.30.2024 - Quick update for those who like to be in the know. I just finished the refresh on this website. There was a lot of clutter and things that didn’t flow at all. I feel pretty good about this new layout. Please let me know if you come across something that doesn’t work as you think it should. Also, as we roll into the new year, YellowBird has been jamming. I am currently at different stages of three different collaboration projects. There are a few others coming down the line as well. I have been doing my best to take this “quiet” part of the season to build up some stock on my more popular top caps and handlebar caps. It feels nice to be getting a head of the curve for a moment. As far as bags go, not much has changed. I am still wanting to make more bags but struggling to find the hours in the day to make it happen. I do have some things in the works, but they are moving along at their own pace. So, that’s about it for now. I hope winter is treating you all ok.

UPDATE: I Just got home from the MADE BIKE SHOW in Portland, OR. I’m still processing all of the bikes, people, conversations and over the top details I got to see and check out. It left me feeling absolutely overwhelmed and inspired. It also cleaned me out of almost all of my top caps and bar plugs that i had in inventory. That’s pretty cool! Fortunately, I ordered twelve feet of brass bar before I left and it was waiting for me when I returned. So I should be filling inventory back in pretty quick. I do have a bunch of emails waiting for me and I am still packing up international orders. I am so thrilled by everyone’s patience, enthusiasm and support! Now I am going to go take a nap.
